Shading Project
This project taught me how to shade. We copied pictures and shaded them to create a replica of the original. We used normal shadiing with a pencil, pointilism, which is groupings of dots that vary in density to make it darker, and my favorite, cross-hatching and hatching, which are lines and crossing lines. I learned how to do all three of these and the examples are off to the left. I enjoyed this project because it taught me how to do a pretty common skill in a lot of forms of art.
Song Lyrics Project
This project was a drawing that is supposed to represent a song. Mine was Some Nights. We started with five of so out lines of shapes in the song lyrics, and used them for our positive space. The outer area we filled in with small drawings of more lyrics with details. Once we finished that we wrote lyrics inside the outlines. I learned how to draw from multiple directions in multiple ways. I liked this project because I've never done anything like this before.
November 2012
We have just started our painting project. I'm doing a landscape of Lake Superior, which is by the city I'm from. It's mostly just color mixing, but it actually is fun. as you can see above, we've done other projects of drawing, but not painting yet.
